It's a brick ... house

Recently my aunt commissioned me to create change-of-address postcards for her and her boyfriend. They had purchased new construction, a house that no one had ever lived in before, so I thought it would be fun to draw a portrait of the house itself to include on the cards since it was making its debut in the world.I had my aunt send me photos of the house as it was in progress so I could get started. She followed up several weeks later with pictures of the garage door after it had been hung, as well as the exterior lighting, so I could add those finishing touches. Here's a pic of the real house vs. the finished drawing.I drew the house in Illustrator with a mouse, using basic shapes and a brick pattern. It was so much fun! I'm probably going to draw a portrait of our own house, and then offer portrait drawings in the Etsy shop at some point.Would you like to commission a house portrait of your own?
